Forum Thread: Peaking in Joints of Laminate

Hi guys, I am very glad to join to your forum.

I installed the laminate flooring on August 2013, from the German company MEISTER, by their special retailer in Cyprus, Shcelto Ltd (Limassol) .They didn't acclimatize the packages in home. On the installation day, I didn't pay attention to the acclimatization because I didn't know the importance of this.

After one month we noticed a peaking in joints of the planks and when we asked them why the peaking existed the specialist retailer confirmed that the flooring needs to expand and they will fix it later.

Six months later, When they came to fix it they said that the flooring didn't fix it and probably it was caused from the excessive moisture.

I claimed the warranty for the Meister and they sent to inspect the specialist retailer who was responsible for the installation.

Meister never replied or reported to my requests to give me a reasonable justification for the bad finish of my flooring

My question is the peaking may be caused (in a such short time) from the non acclimatization or my bad maintenance of flooring? Note I clean the floor with a almost dry mop.
